Lilydale – Shire of Yarra Ranges

Treasuring our Trees salvage trees from storms, bushfires, and projects, partnering with local councils and government agencies. Their mission is to repurpose these trees for local school and community projects, educating children and the public – turning devastation into healing opportunities.

Recycle and Raise Kyabram – Kyabram Community and Learning Centre

The Recycle and Raise project, led by Kyabram Community and Learning Centre, merges the Container Deposit Scheme with local groups, creating a cleaner environment, and supporting community fundraising. Key outcomes include recycling approximately 500,000 containers, reducing litter, providing economic relief, fostering inclusive employment, supporting community groups, and promoting sustainable events. This initiative strengthens community ties, enhances financial stability, and educates on environmental sustainability.

Pakenham – Cardinia Shire

Based on Bunurong/Boonwurrung and Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung country, the Community Repair Hub, funded by Sustainability Victoria, promotes waste reduction, resource recovery, and sustainability education. Housed in a semi-mobile off-grid workshop, it partners with Traditional Owners to raise awareness about Caring for Country and teaches DIY repair skills to local residents.

Hume City

The Hume RENEW Hub integrates environmental and social programs to address crises through local innovation in circular economy, climate action, and community engagement. It offers services, educational programs, and research in Broadmeadows, aiming to foster resilience and sustainability in Melbourne’s North and drive positive change.

Knox City

Outer East Foodshare rescues food to support their community and prevent landfill waste. Volunteers collect, sort, and distribute free food to local relief agencies, fostering an ethos of community support. They creatively manage excess items and ensure any inedible food is composted or given to local farmers, keeping it out of landfill.

City of Hume, Melton, Brimbank and Wyndham

WERN is a non-profit organisation managed and staffed by volunteers and involves interested Rotary Clubs in the designated area of operations. WERN supplies good quality second-hand furniture, electrical and white goods to people in crisis without charge.
