Beechworth – Indigo Shire

‘Our climate action’ is an on-line platform where council captures, tracks and communicates the actions their taking at council and in their community in response to climate change. The platform showcases Indigo’s decade-long commitment to tackling climate change, their climate goals and their implemented and planned climate actions.

Bunyip – Cardinia Shire

Bunyip Renewables Action Group Inc (BRAG) mission is to significantly reduce Bunyip and Districts Carbon Footprint by helping the community to minimise the use of fossil fuels, maximise the uptake of clean energy options and minimise waste going to landfill. BRAG was born out of a group of like-minded locals wanting to actively contribute to solving the world’s climate change challenges for the benefit of their children and grandchildren.

Munro – Wellington Shire

Conceptualised by student team Monash Sustainable Buildings, Flame Robin Farm is a design concept of a net-zero energy bushfire & flash-flood resilient farmhouse located in East Gippsland region in Victoria that considers wildlife & humans as the occupants, providing shelter during natural disasters.

Loddon Mallee – City of Greater Bendigo

Partnering with Bendigo Community Health Services, BSG’s, Giving Power campaign, a crowdfunder run throughout 2023, is providing fully-funded and installed 3-kilowatt solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to local low-income families in the Bendigo area and the broader Loddon Mallee region.

Mornington Peninsula Shire and City of Whittlesea

Two councils, Mornington Peninsula Shire and City of Whittlesea have teamed up with 28 local volunteers to train and support them to provide free energy advice to their residents in a peer-to-peer style learning program called Energy Heroes.

Greater Geelong – City of Greater Geelong

Led by Geelong Sustainability, the 2023 Electric Homes Program, provided residents across the G21 region with accurate information and tools to become an efficient all-electric home powered by renewable energy. The program aimed at supporting residents in adopting sustainable technologies including solar, battery, EV chargers, split system and hot water heat pumps.
